Aggregations of Resources

Collections

Digital resources are organized in a hierarchical manner under collection groups, collections, and subcollections. Each of these levels of the collection hierarchy have home pages and can be searched seperate from UFDC as a whole.

For example, the resource titled 'Funeral Record for Bolton, Lester' appears under the Florida Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences collection group, within the African Americans collection, within the Cunningham Funeral Home subcollection. Thise hierarchy, and some siblings, is demonstrated below:

Searching from the UFDC home page searches within all collection groups and collections.

Institutions

Digital resources can also be collected by the donating institution. Institional home pages allow a user to browse and search for resources donated to UFDC by a partner institute. The pages include information about the institution and may have a seperate banner and interface to match either the look-and-feel of the institutions web presence or the project associated with that institution. Two examples appear below.

This page lists the major aggregations present within the digital library, as well as the title, item, and page count within that aggregation. This only lists the collection groups, collections, and subcollection aggregations though. Institutional aggregations are not displayed here.
