Manufacturer Element Help
Definition
The name of the manufacturer of the described item.
Form Element
In the online templates, this element appears as below:
This form element allows the user to enter the manufacturer information and associate up to three locations with this manufacturer.
The Simplified Manufacturer is an alternate form to input this information, although this version is generally preferred.
Best Practices
The best practice for entering manufacturer information is to enter the manufacturer name as displayed on the title page of the item. Manufacturer names may match the Library of Congress Authority files, but are not required to do so. Locations listed with manufacturer information on the title page should be included; up to three locations can be entered.
