The name of the manufacturer of the described item.
In the online templates, this element appears as below:

This form element allows the user to enter the manufacturer information, but the user cannot associate a place directly with the manufacturer.
The Manufacturer is an alternate form to input this information and is generally preferred over this simplified form.
The best practice for entering manufacturer information is to enter the manufacturer name as displayed on the title page of the item. Manufacturer names may match the Library of Congress Authority files, but are not required to do so.
