SobekCM Builder / Bulk Loader

Overview

The SobekCM Builder/Bulk loader is an application which runs similar to a service. This usually launches once a day and continues to monitor the incoming folders for new incoming digital resources files ready for processing and loading into the SobekCM system. This usually is set to pull from local directories and/or FTP directories for loading material from external partners.

This application also performs some necessary tasks early in the morning and late at night. So, even if you will not be bulk loading into the system, you should set this application to run as a scheduled task.

While this application can run on its own server, it is more often run on the same server as the database and/or Solr/Lucene indexes which it updates.

New Architecture

As of the latest versions, the builder process has now fundamentally changed into a very modular process, as demonstrated by the image below.
